ATHLETES & CONDITIONS

  1. To participate as an athlete in the Norwegian Championship, an active membership with NPAF is required. This does not apply to foreign athletes competing in the Open category.
  2. It is the athlete’s own responsibility to stay informed about rules and deadlines for the competition.
  3. Athletes must register electronically via our website. Upon registering, the athlete must be fully familiar with the criteria for categories and divisions and is responsible for ensuring valid registration in the correct category and division.
  4. If NPAF identifies an athlete registered in an incorrect or invalid category or division, NPAF reserves the right to reassign the athlete to the correct category. The athlete may be asked to submit additional information.
  5. Registration in a category or division is binding, and changes are generally not permitted. However, if the athlete discovers they have registered in the incorrect category according to regulations, they may contact NPAF for a change within 7 days after the registration deadline.
  6. If the athlete has provided written notice to the organization about withdrawing from the competition, it is not possible to reverse this decision afterward.
  7. As an athlete, you are obliged to accept and respect NPAF’s rules and decisions.
  8. No exceptions to the deadlines for registration and document submission set by NPAF will be accepted. If you are not registered within the deadline, you are not allowed to participate.
  9. All costs associated with the Norwegian Championship are the responsibility of the athlete and will not be covered by the Norwegian Pole & Aerial Federation.
  10. The athlete grants all rights to photos and videos taken by hired photographers or board members during the Norwegian Championship and accepts that these may be used to promote the pole & aerial sport, NPAF, and the competition’s sponsors worldwide.
  11. The Norwegian Pole & Aerial Federation is not responsible for any damage or loss of personal belongings.
  12. Participation in the Norwegian Championship is at your own risk. Any injuries or accidents related to participation are the responsibility of the athlete. The athlete is required to have insurance.

JUNIORS
For participants under 18, a guardian, coach, or studio/sports club is fully responsible for registration and document submission within the given deadline.

SUBSTANCES
Alcohol or any form of intoxicants are prohibited on the day of the event at NPAF’s arrangements for athletes, coaches/assistants, and volunteers. It is also forbidden to possess alcohol or intoxicants in competition areas (backstage/dressing room). If the athlete, coach, or human props do not follow this rule, the athlete will be disqualified and banned from the competition for the following year.
After the awards ceremony, upon leaving the competition area and changing out of their tracksuit, athletes are permitted to consume alcohol with the audience/family.

SHOW DURING NM

If you are performing an opening show at NM, you must hold an active membership with the federation. You must comply with the rules in 'Rules & Regulation' for pole or aerial regarding music selection, as well as costume and performance standards listed in point 13.

VOLUNTEERS

The NM committee and volunteers must register electronically via a link on the website. Volunteers must attend the event and be available as agreed. If you are unable to attend on time, you must inform your supervisor immediately. Volunteers are required to follow NPAF’s substance policies. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

CANCELLATION AND MEDICAL CERTIFICATE FOR COMPETITION
If, unfortunately, you must cancel participation after the deadline, a medical certificate must be submitted. This must be submitted as soon as possible before the competition day, and no later than 2 days prior. In case of acute illness occurring during the dress rehearsal or on the competition day, notice must be sent as soon as possible by email. Then, a medical certificate must be submitted within 7 days from the competition day. (For doubles, only 1 of the athletes must provide a medical certificate). If NPAF does not receive a valid medical certificate, you will be disqualified. The certificate must clearly state that the athlete is unable to participate in the Norwegian Championship for it to be accepted as grounds for exemption or absence from the championship. Registration fees will not be refunded in case of cancellation, even with a medical certificate.

DISQUALIFICATION

A disqualification is always assessed by at least three board members.

Disqualification means that you cannot participate in the next NM until one calendar year has passed from the date of disqualification and/or one year after the NM competition date. This means that if you are disqualified from the NM (Pole or Aerial) in May 2025, you cannot participate in an NM until June 2026 at the earliest. The disqualification applies regardless of discipline.

Disqualification also means forfeiting any medals or placement if the disqualification occurs after participating in NM. Athletes are responsible for covering the shipping cost to return medals/trophies to NPAF within 14 days of the disqualification notice. If the athlete fails to return the item, they will be invoiced for the replacement cost of a new trophy, shipping, and an additional fee of 500 NOK.
